In Tehama county, California, local militia and U.S. military attack and raze California Native villages and scalp hundreds of women, children, and men. The villages of Yana, Konkow, Nisenan, Wintu, Nomlaki, Patwin, Yuki, and Maidu are ones that were likely attacked (“List of Indian massacres”).
